In Berlin, the answer is Frauenzimmer (in German, room for the ladies), a new beauty lounge in the chic area of Mitte. The space is the brainchild of beauty expert Nicole Wheadon, founder of the Wheadon Beauty Store, a treasure trove for niche ethical brands from around the world, a must for beauty addicts. With the Frauenzimmer (wheadon.de), Nicole has conceived a space for urban women on the go, where to have quick treatments, at affordable prices, that fit in a lunch break. In the romantic space – light white curtains and pink reflecting surfaces give it a dreamy feel – one can have – by appointment but also last minute – from quick hair styles using hot tools to eyebrow defining, waxing, and tinting or a quick day make-up. But the piece de résistance is the Quick Peach Treat (Martina, the skilled therapist, calls it gym for the skin) a face treatment using a salt water jet that stimulates the circulation of the skin with a plumping effect. The treatment can be further enhanced by a peeling, a face mask, and the application of personalized LED colored light (each color has a different effect, detox, calming, firming). At the end, products from the Wheadon Store are applied (we loved the vegan Swedish brand Luxsit, and the luxury Hungarian Omorovicza). The result is a firm glowing skin that makes an ideal base for a subtle but radiant make-up (they use organic German brand Und Gretel). And success, whatever the occasion, is guaranteed.
