YORA SKIN SCIENCE
In a beauty world saturated with skincare lines – from cosmeceuticals to clean cosmetics – it´s easy to lose sight of what´s best for one´s own skin. Enter Yora Skin Science, a new label made in Melbourne that is quickly carving its space in the beauty universe. Conceived by nutritionist and wellness coach Antoinette Barnardo, this Aussie skincare brand approaches skin health with a holistic mind set, addressing the whole individual rather than just the epidermis. And instead of featuring one-size-fits-all cosmetics, creates premium products that address a constantly changing skin, as “every day is a different skin day, because we are different every day”. The products are on offer in 3 “skin solutions” (Ageless, Hydration, Pollution Protect), divided into 9 “customised skincare routines”, embracing an array of skin issues and lifestyles. The Protect Routine, consisting in a cleanser, a face concentrate, a serum and a moisturiser ($ 405 AUD) is studied to shield against extreme weather conditions, harsh lights at the office, and the rays of the sun; the Lift Routine addresses dull, sun damaged and unevenly pigmented skin (3 products, $ 690 AUD). All products are packed with a high concentration of carefully sourced (mostly) organic active ingredients such as Kakadu plum, golden seaweed, and caviar lime. Formulations are backed by evidence-based science. And while a light footprint on the planet is guaranteed by ethical partnerships and total transparency, a dual action on the body, from within as well, is insured by the Yora Skin Complex, a skin supplement brimming with antioxidants whose star ingredient is high potency tomato extract. As Yora aims to take into consideration “the interior, exterior, social and cultural aspects of the individual.” An ambitious project. But so very welcomed.
