De Cruz has the right credentials to make the claim: having worked on editorial shoots, fashion weeks, and TV shows worldwide beautifying the faces of supermodels, actresses and music divas alike (think of Cindy Crawford, Erin O´Connor, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys), he knows how to create the perfect base for a flawless make-up. “I have been working with skin closely for many years. It’s given me first hand insight into what different ingredients can do, and what products are out there. “ He has started his brand, A.D.C Beauty, with just one product, focusing on ingredients. “ I wanted to bring out a brand that was simple and effective. I don’t think many skincare steps are necessary once you have high quality ingredients which can be delivered to the skin in one go and have fast absorption.” His moisturiser, that “does more than just moisturise”, is packed with carefully sourced active ingredients: Mangosteen fruit extract fights acne and reduces puffiness, Gotu Kola combats inflammation, Arnica Montana heals the skin, and Perilla oil plumps the complexion, making it an ideal canvas for make-up application. The brand doesn´t care just for the skin, but for the planet as well: it is vegan, cruelty-free, and the packaging is made with recycled coffee cups.
